Secluded rural retreat with spectacular views - close to Snowdonia National Park, the Dovey estuary and coast

Although situated in a secluded rural location this property is easily accessible and is close to both the A470, (the main route between north and south Wales), and the A458. It's an apartment above a detached double garage - far enough away from the main house to ensure privacy. There's no traffic noise, apart from the odd passing vehicle on the lane and no light pollution, meaning it's great for stargazing and on clear, moonless nights you can often see the Milky Way.

Accommodation consists of a living / dining room, double bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom / WC and balcony. There is also a double sofa bed in the living room making it suitable for two friends sharing as well as couples. The property has central heating and is well insulated.

Due to the remote feeling of Ty Tan-y-Fron we presume people come here to 'get away from it all' and therefore give our guests space and privacy. We are of course happy to interact with them if they wish. We will be around some of the time during our guests' stay and should they need us when we're not, we can be contacted by phone.

We have access to some great walks right on our doorstep and there are numerous other walks just a short drive away through beautiful countryside. Whether you're wanting an easy, moderate or energetic walk or cycle, in hilly or flat terrain,, there's something for everyone - and always among that spectacular scenery. (We can arrange cycle hire, should you wish.)

In the nearby village of Llanbrynmair there is a small shop for essential supplies. Should you want more choice and variety there are larger supermarkets a short drive away. For non-driving guests, Tesco and Asda offer an online delivery service. There is also a bread delivery on a Friday and vegetable deliveries on Wednesday and Saturday.

Buses run through Llanbrymair and the nearest train stations are Machynlleth or Caersws. There is a taxi service in Machynlleth. We may be able to collect and return guests to and from the train or bus station by prior arrangement. (Cost of each journey is £10.)
